Life, Lemons, and Lemonade

I remember my creative writing instructor saying, “Get rid of the cliches!”

But I just can’t help it! I have to write something that has cliches in it. Forgive me just this once. Although, I definitely know that in the future I’ll still be writing a piece around a cliche. Until then, I’ll apologize again.

Anyway, here goes my piece for today.

I feel demotivated at work yet again. Life throws lemons every now and then, and when you least expect it. And the lemon can be thrown at you in a curveball causing disruption in the balance you are in.

Making lemonade out of the lemons thrown at you is no easy fit. But, the lemonade is a reminder that you can do something with the lemons. That you have a dream and that dream gives you the sense of purpose. That sense of purpose quashes any demotivation meant to disrupt your velocity towards the target.

So, I write this to remind me of what has happened today. To help me re-focus and draw up a plan to do on days that I get demotivated.

1. Remember WHO your True North is

2. He is your Anchor as well

3. Count your blessings; celebrate your wins because they’re surely more than the times you were defeated

4. Remember when you failed; “I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from?” Psalm 121:1

5. Know WHO put the dreams and purpose within you

So, after falling face down, I push up and pat my back. Then, I tell myself, “Stand up, dust yourself and move along. You know how to better choose your battles by now. Trust how God has prepared you for the unexpected in days like this one.”
